The Petersen Automotive museum always puts on a good show, and this years exhibit commemorating the Porsche brand is no exception. Titled "The Porsche Effect", it contained some of the icons of the Porsche brand.

Even before walking into the museum there is a black and white diorama showcasing the classic 911 shape, with the 4 cylinder version known as the 912. I can remember a time in the 90's when you could buy a really nice 912 for under $10,000. Finding a nice one today is probably closer to $40,000 and up. The 912 is a beautiful shape and classic sports car with a flat 4.

So far the exhibit is off to a nice start, and as I continue on I see another car that has been getting a lot of attention. The Gmund SL 063, that was restored by master of metal and air-cooled Porsches, Rod Emory of Emory Motorsport. It looked like a rolling trophy. A stunning car to say the least.

As I look around the museum I can see other things on display that are designed by Porsche. From headphones to an entire building, Porsche has been designing things for a long time. They even designed a very stunning and modern piano. I get a sense about how design is a big influence in the brand. A good design has a way of affecting you. And they seem to have figured out a design language that elicits the emotions they want you to have. These things that they've designed, have a way of making you feel good.
